Merit Health Wesley Recognizes Physician Champions

Hattiesburg – Each quarter, Merit Health Wesley recognizes three physicians for excellence in the categories of Service, Quality and Documentation. In the most recent quarter Fisher Covin, M.D., John Gaudet, M.D., and Viral Lathia, M.D., were honored as Merit Health Wesley Physician Champions.
Dr. Fisher Covin, Cardiologist with HeartSouth, has been named the Service Physician Champion. As Service Physician Champion, Dr. Covin demonstrates a commitment to providing the highest level of service to patients, fellow physicians and hospital staff. This award is based in-part on employee and patient feedback.
Dr. John Gaudet, Pediatrician with Merit Health Medical Group, has been recognized as this quarter’s Quality Physician Champion. Quality Physician Champions are recognized for showing compliance with nationally recognized quality indicators and for exceptional results in their ongoing physician performance reviews.
Dr. Viral Lathia, Cardiologist at Merit Health Medical Group, has been named the Documentation Physician Champion. Documentation is an important part of ensuring a positive patient experience. Dr. Lathia has demonstrated care with regard to timeliness and accuracy in his orders and notes.
