Emergency Medicine Residency
Merit Health Wesley's emergency medicine residency program has been granted continued accreditation by the ACGME and is a four-year program, which shall accept six residents each year for a total of 24 when filled.
The program boasts both synergy with and extensive involvement from attending physicians. Based in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, the program offers life in a family-friendly city environment, with ample activities and opportunities for spouses and families with children.
The emergency medicine residency program of Merit Health Wesley is dedicated to excellence in the training of emergency medicine residents. The goal of the training program is to provide the graduating residents with the tools, skills, empathy and knowledge to practice in any emergency department of their choosing. The residency program strives to continuously improve upon its program, training facilities and academic curriculum to achieve the ultimate goal of the department of emergency medicine: “Excellence in patient care.” We have incorporated the Merit Health Wesley mission statement, which is: “Loving God, serving others, excelling in healthcare.”
