Meet the Flowers Family
Tessa Flowers, Austin Flowers, Waverly (6), Rhyker (3), and Greenly (1)
Briefly describe the circumstances surrounding your pregnancy and the birth of your daughter.
My two oldest children were born prematurely, so we assumed that Greenly would arrive early, too. Dr. Carter started precautions the moment I knew I was pregnant. While I was hospitalized several times for pre-term labor, Greenly did not make her arrival until 37 weeks! Dr. Carter told me she would get me to full term, and she did just that!
While my pregnancy with Greenly was rocky, my delivery could not have been more perfect. My husband joked and said we could have made a movie about how a delivery should go.
My son, Rhyker, was born at 34 weeks. He spent one month in the NICU. I could not have been more pleased with the care he received while there. The doctors and nurses were more than accommodating to this scared mom’s needs.
Why did you choose Merit Health Wesley?
Since I was in and out of the doctor so often while pregnant with my second child, I had the opportunity to see Dr. Carter. I knew for sure I wanted her to be my physician for the birth of my next child. Dr. Carter’s outgoing personality and demeanor are exactly the qualities all women want in their physician.
Will you continue to see Dr. Carter and use this hospital, if needed?
Dr. Carter is amazing, and I plan to use her and Merit Health Wesley for all my family’s medical needs.
Would you recommend Dr. Carter and Merit Health Wesley to someone else? Why?
Having a baby can be a scary experience. I think I was more nervous with Greenly because I knew more about what was happening. Dr. Carter was there every step of the way to assure me that everything was fine and to make Greenly’s arrival the best it could be.
I actually recommend Dr. Carter to everyone I know! Nearly all the women in my family now use Dr. Carter. She even delivered my best friend’s twins.
What meant the most to you during your experience?
The kindness my family and I received from the doctors, nurses, and staff members meant the most to us during Greenly’s birth. My husband would say the wonderful meal we were served meant the most to him!
Is there anything else you would like to share?
From the nurses who sat by Rhyker’s crib in the NICU 24 hours a day to a former student, who was my outstanding nurse the day Greenly was born, to Dr. Carter who dropped her children at school and rushed to deliver my baby, all of my experiences at Merit Health Wesley have been wonderful. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this facility and the people who make it great.
